I would recommend you don't send him a copy of the small claims court submission.
The submission, albeit with a facility to attach additional pages, sets out your case so why give him advance notification of your entire case on which he has more time to prepare for.
I've just looked at the photos for the first time; shocking.
How much did you pay?
I had my MGF160 done by my mechanic last year who did a superb job and charged me £75.00, plus materials.
Would expect the D3 to be no more than £200.00 on that basis, plus materials, and I'd expect nearer £175.00.

Personally I disagree - there is only so much they can do to respond to a Small Claims case, and unless they can demonstrate factual errors (i.e. car was done properly, mirror wasn't broken) then they have limited defence options. So with a weeks' notice it is unlikely to affect anything unless he gets lawyered up, but since he can't recover those costs even if he wins it would be cheaper to refund. The form demonstrates that the customer is prepared to go ahead and take action and isd far more effective than a threatening letter.
If it were a full monty court case I'd agree, but under Civil Procedure you have to declare your position early on anyway to try and avoid court.Tony

I totally agree, but as far as I know no one has suggested a 'threatening' letter, that's the last thing he should do.D3 incl. genuine glass windscreen, front bi-focal headlights, full width rear bumper, self levelling washer bottle contents and audible 'tick tock' indicator stalk

I'd thought of doing my SII, but came across this thread on LandyZone. The Deja-vu is strong, especially on the price.
Jesus wept that makes entertaining reading, I've bookmarked it so I can read it all later
Thanks for posting it

You're welcome - some nice turns of phrase there; the one about customer skills of a Dachau prison guard kept me chuckling for a while.Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

Ref that forum: Where is the "internet hard guy" pic when you need it, I think it would be appropriate. There is absolutely no escalation in force there, it goes direct from: "oh dear I am dissapointed" to "right yer a feffin you know what"
Proves one thing of course, the is no smoke without fire.Captain Nick Medhurst would ask:
"What is the first rule when overlanding?"

Good read and a good link to the LR Keyboard Warriors.....
Some great advice on how to sort out your mess, Gasman.
Personally I would not have your reserve to go through the courts. I put the welfare of my D3 over my children...

From what has been said this is NOT the guy at Hatfield AL10 9BB
It would be helpful if Gasman would confirm this though.

I think I had mine done in some farmbuildings nr. Hatfield so probably same person - no problems at all, although I've no way of knowing whether everything was covered.
I went to Hatfield because of testimonial from someone who had a close encounter with possibly same person original poster is referring to and was horrified by his whole set up and business (dis)organistion.
To OP - sorry you've had such a bad experience and hope it can be rectified.
