Nice one, thats gonna come in very handy next week, especially the top tip on extending the live wire. Looks like I will bench prepare the fitment, then complete next weekend.
Whats the best method to join the cables to the D3, those Nyloc clamp thingys?

I soldered the extensions on the red lead but used scotch locks
Nyloc clamp thingys?
on the connection to the main headlight connector, just in case I need to remove the fog lamps in the future as this method is easier than getting the soldering iron out for removal.
With the tiny current draw of LEDs it might be easier to just take the 12v feed from 1 headlight and connect both sets of LEDs to that? Also, can you use the fog light ground within the lamp fitting rather than running an extra wire to the body work? Nice mod Previously:

You could do that but you would then have to run another wire across to the other side of the car, its just easier to tap in to the existing wires behind the headlamps, than having trailing wires along the front.
Yes you could connect the fog lamp earth if thats easier for you, its still an earth, but if your in to off roading and you go through deep water breaking in to the wires in that area is a bit risky of water getting in the joints. Thats one reason I chose the connections behind the headlamps as its higher up the car and you can make the joint water tight with sealant or self amalgamated tape.

Connected the live on mine to the side lamp wire directly behind the multi plug. I have mounted a switch in line in for the MOT.
Re Wiki, I am writing this up for a magazine, so I post the article up on wiki here when it's written.
