Crankshaft failure on a model 2006
I'd be very interested to know what caused your problem.
My engine failure started with a lot of noise, when driving on a highway at 95 km / hr.
Engine Temp normal, no warning lights or messages.
Pulled over and had the car transported to garage.
They found white metal in the oil, crankshaft bearings ruined.
TDI Engine with only 70 km on the clock should not break down like that.
I suspect that this is a manufacturing fault, but the dealer says its not.

Looks like a lot of hard work you've put in there, well worth the effort I'd imagine

Get on with you rnlisg its mind over matter, its only nuts and bolts and to be honest its quit an easy job once you have all the fancy stuff off, and break each job down into Tasks.Another thing I was glad I done was anything I took off I put the nuts & bolts in the part I took off and tape them in there holes, it made things so much easier when it went back together, so ever nut and bolt went back where it come from and not one part left over at the end
If anyone wants to attempt this I have loads of photos and I'm only a PM away for some advice
and don't forget to get all your parts from TheLargeOne/Nick at Yeovil
