Just noticed my car is wet on the drivers side. I noticed a smallish pool of water on the top of the rubber mat (which is slightly weird) so am guessing that must have been from melting snow as I cant see how else water would have got there. Is this possible ?
Outside edges of the matts are also damp so am going to dry it all out and see if it happens again. The carpet was actually frozen in places so cant see it is just a little bit of water. Any ideas ? original screen and the first time this has happened ? I cant see it being the sun roof drains and the top of the car is dry as a bone around sun visors etc.

So after a lot of faffing I think i have found the cause!
The seal between the engine bay and the bonnet had come away. This is the seal that runs round the engine bay between the body and the bonnet. It looks like this rubber seal has shrunk and there is a gap now between the 2 ends at the front near the bonnet catch. Re fitted seal and so far no leaks!!!!!
I cant believe it was something so simple.. in fact i dont believe it, so im going to keep my eye on it for a good few weeks before properly fitting the carpet down.
This is where it had come away, right over the pedals basically!
