So i've got the plug & comfort lead now, I presume i connect the positive to pin4 & the negative to pin 3 based on the 12s pin shown in the attached image?

My quick and ready version for chargers with crocodile clips.
This works for me because the wife has been known to drive off with charger connected, with croc clips just slip off without damage.

But i suppose it will have done the job

Cheers Martin...best upgrade my electrics...car only lasting 2 days of standing before being flat as a pancake
I would check out the electrics as a battery under normal conditions will not go flat within a couple of days

I've always thought about how I could use one of these auto ejecting connectors for charging, but it needs to be mounted vertically to work effectively and I can't see myself cutting a hole in the back of the disco
If there was one that could fit on one side of the towing electrics mounting holes, with a 13pin towing socket on the other, that would be perfect.D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

If you use a CTEK charger to recondition a battery, I think one of the first parts of the cycle is to discharge the battery (the ctek gets very hot). I’d always been concerned that it was drawing a lot of current in this process and the towing electrics wouldn’t be up to it?2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

CTEK's don't do any discharging.
Step 1 just helps batteries that are out of condition, and if they are fine it quickly skips onto the next step.
your thinking of some AA battery chargers

The ctek when reconditioning does it gas the batteries on and off to help the plates recover , don’t know how often ur suppose to select that option unless it just used when a battery is dead and trying to recover it
Had my CTEK plugged in via the 12s socket for the last 2 x months
Monitered it via a battery monitor on my iipad so can see when the CTEK charges the batteries nearly every 3 x weeks and then stops charging
Might be able to come up with a solution regarding a driveaway disconnect... what are we talking about amps wise when charging like this?.

I have secured a small steel cable ro my towing cable which is 5m long , I put a small piece of plastic on the 12s flap latch so in the event I drive away in theory shouldn’t rip the cable out
Famous last words
Wonder if having something like an Anderson connector in the middle of the cable would work better
Did install a 12s socket on the front of my house and CTEK in the hall to make life easier , so when I reverse onto my drive I can easily plug the 12s lead in , did fit a fuse box inside the grey box as an extra precaution and used all stainless steel screws
Know on the CTEK charging lead have seen some remove the clip so will come apart easily
