Being sad I have just timed doing as the book, it took 7.25 mins to do if you know that you are doing so I guess a 10 min job to change them!
The black tape looks easy now!

I must have ladies hands then, as I successfully changed the lights twice in situ whilst waiting for my hoverspeed 'flights'. I'll admit that the driver's side one is a pig, but as Brian points out, I was concerned with having to realign the lights if I took them out. Plus I might have broken a manicured nail on the metal slides....
I thought it should be relatively straight forward. The levers are rediculous, perhaps it is a ploy to get you to a LR deaer to change the lights for £90 out and £90 return.

Well my hands are large & there is no way I can even do the passenger side let alone the drivers side!
So yes I guess you do have ladies hands!

And is it up or down for UK / Euro ? Is it easy to tell if they are changed - ie a noticeable click ?

After tonight computers are doing my head in. I have always hated them, detest Microsoft and have lived with problems in computers since I packed away my Sinclair ZX with 64kb memory and all through ignorance of them.
We even have a piece of software that does its own thing letting unregistered guests onto the site by default ughhhhhhhhhhh.
Can we get back to what we do best, love the D3, criticise it, take it to bits, repair it, hate it, drive it and have lots and lots of fun in it.
I'll dump skype, clean the disc and reload the whole computer if necessary, just to get back to not being so b****y helpless. I know now how guys feel when their car computer lets them down.
Surely with all you techi guys, can we not get into the brain of D3 and sort it out for ourselves??????
