10 years ago today the story began....
So ten years ago today I rocked up to T H White in Swindon to pick up my shiney new D3, affectionatly known as 'The Old Bus'. At the time my eldest daughter was nearly 5 and my youngest was just days away fom entering this world.
She has been the most capable, versatile and comfortable car i've ever owned and also the longest I've ever kept a car. She is also the most ridiculously reliable car ever
The Old Bus has become an integral part of how we live as a family and an indespensible tool that supports my businesses. She has just painlessly passed her MOT again and I see no reason to get rid of her
I haven't many pictures but here are a few that tell a little of The Old Bus's story...
New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)
Sold Volvo XC90 R-Design (known as Basil)
Sold - D4 HSE (Known as Gerty)
No longer the Old Buses original owner
231,000 miles and counting
05 S manual owned from March 2005
D4 Face lifted
Still original injectors and turbo
V8 Front brakes
BAS Remap, Allisport Intercooler and deCat
EGRs blanked
T-Max split charge
Hanibal Expeedition rack
Prospeed ladder

Seem to be following your story in real life ....
Apart from the boats D4 Front upgrade/cut back wings n things 'taking a long time but getting there'.
D4 rear upgrade - Narpys helped with that bit
Flack for problem solving and D4 Bluetooth Install/ D4 Heated Steering wheel with Flappy paddles n BBS enabling kit
Disco Mikeys work - Serviced, EGR blanking and 4x4 software upgrade, 3 flash indicators.
B.A.S - FBHIC. Uncle Rays spare wheel protector. Beanie Silver Black badges.

Excellent!
Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
Haha changing nappies on the tail gate has to be the best feature of the disco... Other people have to cue for baby changing bathrooms, I just head back to the car park
nice story...
I believe we all will look back 7 see the Disco 3 years as being good with our brilliant vehicles...where our Discos have served us well.
Its not the first time I have kept a vehicle way beyond its OEM warranty...I too feel confident in not yet parting with mine..
What replaces this ?
LR have the answer.....BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.
