Mines cracked too. HSE sept 06. Off I go to Ripon Landrover.
This appears to be a growing issue.

Has anyone actually got their roof replaced yet? lots of 'going in' posts, but none reporting the final outcome.
Does this cracking actually cause a problem in service? TBH I have not even looked at mine yet!
In fact, I'm so glad that I actually have a Land Rover with a sunroof that does not leak (previous D2 owner, with built in cold shower system), I am tempted to leave it well alone even if it is cracked. Silver TDV6 HSE

Not had mine replaced yet Gareth, dealer did have a look at it and said that LR wouldn't do a warranty replacement as yet (about 2 months ago) but they are having another look next month (cars in for its second service). My D2 didnt have any leaky sunroofs thankfully but 2 days after I got my D1 it rained and it came in through the rear speakers Zambezi Silver TDV6 HSE, Privacy glass, Side steps and Maxxraxx 5 Bike carrier.

My sunroof assembly was replaced last week with no problems from the dealer whatsoever. The manager inspected the cracks and immediately said that they would take care of it. I'd like to point out that the actual assembly of the sunroof is designed a bit differently than the previous or first design. Not a major mechanical difference, but the parts do look different - so LR has upgraded the design. USA

So, looks like LR now knows the problem and important is that the part is now different!!
Have to check with LR Greece then....

The parts are made of different plastic, and the sunroof rails appear to be wider. That's the difference that I can see. USA

Hi, my first post here
Just had a look at my sunroof (2006 HSE) and all the mechanics are covered in thick white grease - so if there are cracks, they wouldn't be visible.
I wonder if the grease was applied at the factory or by the dealer during normal service...

Checked mine out at the weekend....both rails cracked at the joggle. I contacted the Dealer yesterday and they're taking the car in on Thursday to rpelace the roof assembly. Have LR corrected the design I wonder, or will the replacement be the same as the original one. If so, I'll be back in another 8 months from new! for info the dealer, Pillings in Welwyn want the car for 2 days. D3 HSE, Stornaway grey, 2007 MY, side steps, privacy glass, door protection strips. Mine was in for some warranty work and they replaced the sunroof as there were severe cracks on both sides, on the support arms (made of plastic!!) - apart from the glass it looks as though the whole thing has been replaced!
All done under warranty at no cost to me, but then there are only 18,000 muile on the clock!

You may be right! I had mine replaced a few months ago under warranty, but when it was warm, which is not applicable now(!) the new roof has been squeaking somewhat. Now, as the exterior temperature has dipped, silence! I've also been aware that if you leave the sunroof up, but not open, during rain/ or dew, the moment it is moved to the closed position water ingresses through the roof lining. The roof channels/or whatever they are called were cleared at the same time. However, it's not really a big issue, it doesn't leak when its shut, and it's stopped creaking now it's cooler. Wonder why I posted this in retrospect.....

Now replaced by Yeovil - seems fine
I would get it done now - mine was OK - but if it fails later I dread to think of the cost out of warranty Illegitimi Non Carborundum

FYI, noticed a loud wind noise coming from the sunroof during my first trip on the highway since the replacement. When inspecting the sunroof in the closed position, I noticed that the glass panel is turned slightly in the body cavity of the vehicle. This left a gap on one side between the body of the roof and the glass panel, and the other side is pressed up tightly against the body. This is causing the loud wind noise. I suggest to anyone that has their sunroof replaced to inspect the seal between the glass and body, to make sure its uniform all the way around before you leave the dealership. I have to go back and have mine adjusted. USA

After reading this. ive checked mine and the nearside one is almost cracked through.
This is very bad because we never ever ever use the sunroof and its only been open a couple of times in 18 months.
I will call the dealer now and see what they say.
