United Kingdom 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Auto Java BlackDiscovery 3

Had mine on a 1k trip thru France - the drivers side seems to lift on the return stroke near the 10 o'clock position leaving an annoying smear that needs to be cleared. Gonna try and wiggle the fitting and see if that helps. On the outward stroke they are superb.

After weeks of no rain the only chance I've had to use wipers is to clear bug remains off which they do very well if you catch them while they're still fresh. I brought a pair for my daughters Ka as she was complaining her cheap halfrrauds wipers were useless. When I asked how are the new wipers her reply was something like "oh my god they're amazing, I sometimes just do the squirters just so I can use them". They must be good to get a comment like that, as it takes quite a bit to impress her. Anyway its just started raining properly so I might get a chance to carry on testing them. After 2 months still the best wipers I've used on the disco. Thumbs Up

So now that so many sets of these have sneaked out before a trial period,, what's the opinion then - shall we launch them? Laughing

Hi Steve

As Johnny said they are pretty good but mine also miss on return about 10 o clock and they do do fly squits if you catch them as they hit the screen!

1000% better than LR ones and probably on par with Valeo that I had in the past!

👍Up from me and good value for money, covers for the arms at the hook end would be nice but not essential.

HTH
Darrell Thumbs Up

Maybe a Daft Question

BUT...
1) Do D4's have the same issues with wonky wiper blades that some with D3's do ?
2) If they dont whats the difference ?...do they have a different part numbers for the wipers or arms ?
3) If they do.....it would appear that LR are continuing to make & sell something that has a niggling fault that could be cured if they put their minds to it....which for a 40 to 50 grand vehicle isn't right at all
4) Do RRSports or Freelanders have the same issues...or is it just D3's or maybe D4's.

We D3 (& maybe D4) owners are having to live with a fault that at least is annoying at worst could be dangerous as not being able to see because you limit the strokes of the wipers to limit the bloody awful noise that they make....which is goddammed reeeeeeeediculous.....

5) why is it that D3's dont have Bosch wipers available to buy ? .....they make wipers for virtually everything else....I realise you can get Valeo & original ones...now even back to the future Michelin ones...which I'll bet are for sale in Carrefour supermarkets at the right price.

6) question to our American D3 & D 4 owners one here - are there american makes that fit ?
 BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Hi BLF

American = Michelin!

Bosch do make them and I still have a few sets that I am not replacing.

Have sold the Michelins to RRS - exact same blades and have started to sell these on FL2, same issues with all frameless blades, they skip across the screen.

Hybrid blades aren't just a retro fit now, some VM's using them.

Go on, cough up and get a set and if you don't like them I will swap them for Bosch!

i bought a set last week and they seem ok but i think they might have something missing.

Where the wipers click into the arms it looks very rough and unfinished as if there should be a cover on them, any ideas?

Yup - I thought the fitting was messy in appearance compared to the Valeo's as well. Also my drivers side lifts on the return stroke when at speed.
Overall - they are ok, but IMO not as good as the Valeos were even after they had been fitted for a year!
