Retrofit Complete

Gents,

The operation seems to be a success. The locking diff control module showed up today and it took me about 30 minutes to hook it up, activate the feature, clear the faults and let the vehicle sleep.

So far no faults under the basic driving test I did.

I will says the system is a bit sensative. Whenever I try to do any voltage tests on the power outputs from the control module to the motor it invokes a low voltage fault. My test meter is probably drawing to many amps. Once cleared, if I let it alone it operates just fine.

Thanks again for all the help.

Here are a few picks my buddy took while doing some of the wiring.

I have E differential and few days ago it locked itself but doesnt show any icons on the screen. Have read that the actuator bearings goes wrong and locks diff for all time. When I go straight nothing bad happens but on slow and near 90deg turn I feel that inside corner wheel is forced to spin. Don't want to brake the axle so left the car to stay in backyard. Any help? Tried so search but didn't find any info Sad

Hello guys. As I have a S spec D3 I never thought about rear e-diff. Today, I went to change the diff oils and when the guy removed the drainer I saw a very different fluid coming out rear diff than the front diff.
Then I took a flashlight and for my surprise, looks like mine S 2007 D3 has e-diff.
As my local castrol local dealer told me they never had this bot 720, I asked him to put the old muddy fluid back, so I could go to the stealership try to find the right fluid for rear diff.
I made a video.please take a look and tell me if this is how a ediff looks like.

Thanks

Just getting to know my car picked it up last week, I put it into rack crawl and I noticed the rear diff seems to show it as unlocked (giving the impression it will lock) am I assuming correctly?

Have a look under the car by the rear diff. That display shows two padlocks regardless, unless you can get the back one to turn orange.

You sure you have a locking rear diff? Most (like 95%+ ) don't, they also have the unlocked symbols for the rear diff.
