A good point for us all to take note of, no matter how careful we are, sometimes its east to take a chance or just forget to check its all safe.
Glad to see you are on the mend, and you are still with us.
Take care and lets hope you have a fast recovery.Dale
Daft question but was the park brake on? Shouldn't that have held it?
and being an auto was it not in Park?
Park can't hold it once the driveshaft is disconnected, since the rear TF box output can then spin freely - IOW, exactly what happened. The EPB would have though.Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

This is the reason I,am having Geoff (Site Sponser) to replace mine this week......
I also raised my disco into off road height but I did put jacks underneath. I was only visually checking mine but when your under such a big vehicle it is very worrisome.D3 HSE

Lucky man. Hope you are well soon.
Just had my manual MOT'd and only comment was the disks need to be replaced. This led to a discussion around the EPB, of which I have to release now and then, the LR indie stated they do not have this issue with auto's - at which point the boss joined in - this is because they never use the EPB and always just put in P.

Lucky escape - hope you recover OK.
It reminds me of when I did something similar last year which ended up with the Disco rolling through the garden fence and ended up half on the neighbours lawn - luckily no one was in the garden at the time.
Gave their dog something to bark at though.

That's me NEVER going under again. So easily done when your (an amateur) rushing and so pleased with yourself at making fast progress.
Very pleased you will make a full recovery.

Blimey! I'm glad you made it out in one piece, although on the downside you can now look forward to a lifetime of people asking you about the 'that time you got run over by your own car'. I'll certainly think twice before going underneath again.
