That hole as been there for25 to 30 year as my friend lived at the Farm at the end of it Burket Bank i drove this road when you could drive all the lane with no bother its a drain off for the fell as you should know and what ever you do it will all ways be there but as others have said we will help repair it you have just to let us know. AS dim as a Tock H Lamp but twice as bright and loving every minute i will be there again or Tunisia
Its a game of two halves first to learn, second to get out there and do it.

I rented a Maruti jeep in Malta a couple of years ago and it was virtually destroyed by the time we gave it back, The roads are a little rough, but it is a great place.

There are many short-sighted posts about this issue. It was a regrettable error, everyone has agreed that, and had the information (signage and Wayfinder data spring to mind) been available then absolutely no attempt would have been made to drive the lane under discussion.
Many offers of help for repairs and upkeep have been made, these should be accepted by the aggrieved side as an apology and an attempt to put right the perceived wrongs carried out by no fault or intent of the people involved.
Information about these closed/restricted lanes should be collated and published freely to prevent issues like this happen - it looks like certain (local) people with web access have known about this closure for a few weeks but the main point of lookup did not hold the information. It should not be necessary to have to trawl all the internet forums to find out information about which lanes are closed, this should be frequently updated in a central place of reference. Wayfinder in its various forms claims to be this but clearly is not working.
What I suggest is that the offers of help are accepted and that a work party carries out repairs shortly, and ensures signage is in place so the chance of this occurring again is minimised. The restriction should be added to all versions/copies of Wayfinder out there, and all the Land Rover and 4x4 communities then work together to provide, support and promote an utterly free, easy access, non-commercial database of restricted lanes which can be added to by all. Whether this is done as an update to Wayfinder or as a new site is not important, but everyone will benefit and the risk of lanes being damaged by accident will be significantly reduced. The current resource for this is failing, and just saying "it was on some forums" is not really acceptable if the associations, groups and their active members are so committed to saving the lanes. A request for everyone's benefit. Could you please move any photos of the incident and of the "turning around" to a part of this forum that at least requires you to be a member to view it. Otherwise these photos could be used out of context as amunition against us all by the Bobbly community.
Thank you.
