A little bit of fettling again.
Took off the Stornoway door handle covers and replaced with gloss black. Look good but I won't see the complete effect until the new alloys and tyres are on and that might not be for a good few weeks due to work travel abroad.
I've got a set of Range Rover 19" 2010MY alloys from the Vogue spec from a mate and had them refurbed to match my RR Supercharged alloys, done in a very dark metallic anthracite. Once they are dirty they look black but not that cheap gloss black some alloys are done in.
They will be wrapped in a new set of Duratracs.
The alloys were a steal and full dip and blast refurb was £75 a wheel. Total cost is much lower than buying a pre built set on eBay.1998 Defender 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF

Also, I might paint the silver strip on the side steps in satin black.
Looks easy enough, mask, etch primer and paint then lacquer.1998 Defender 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF

Fitted the set of rear seat covers yesterday, they are made by Custom Covers. I got a package off eBay from them, full set of seat covers and also the boot liner.
There's no instructions on how to fit them, but from figuring it out you start with the seat backs, then the bases. They are a superb fit and very good quality. I have a set of INKA seat covers for the Range Rover and they are nowhere near as nice to sit on, by comparison they feel like they're made from a kagool.
These ones have a cotton lining so they won't do any damage to the leather from rubbing, and they have a fabric feel to them, not plastic.
I only fitted the rears for now as I use the rear seats for carting stuff about, I shall fit the front ones when it gets close to the shooting season.1998 Defender 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF

Found a second hand but very good condition set of genuine LR rubber mats for the entire car, I was going to get the Autograph ones but these were slightly cheaper with free shipping. They wer eoff eBay of course. Should arrive this week while I am away.
These will be invaluable during the winter. 1998 Defender 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF

Looks like a much younger model than it is! I think the alloys help with that. Seat covers will be brilliant for returning it to pristine condition after using it as a working car.
The G4 I've just bought had fitted seat covers on it which the previous owner installed when he bought it. I've just removed them as I've been mostly using it for long distance cruising and the leather underneath was immaculate. It's like a brand new leather upholstery, even has the new leather smell.2007 Porsche Boxster (987) 2.7

I'm lucky that the leather in mine is in amazing condition. It's even better once I cleaned it and Gliptoned it. It smells beautiful.1998 Defender 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF

I would stick with the HSE alloys it has and gloss black those - it will look fabulous and they are the best alloys for both cleaning and keeping with the un-fussy lines of the D3/D4
I'm not a fan is the HSE alloys really so I will sell these on for someone who is.1998 Defender 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF

Packages have arrived while I was away.
The set of s/h genuine rubber mats are in the car and in brilliant condition, they were a good price.
In the other box are these. From LR Trade parts a full set of Terrafirma TF303 spacers for the D3.
These will allow the RR 19" alloys to fit over the standard brake callipers and carriers.
They will also fill out the arches a bit, which on standard wheels and tyres does need doing, when viewed straight on from the front or behind, it can look a bit puny.
