England 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Auto Bonatti Grey

Had to cancel mine due to some work being carried out by stealer on wednesday. I was told by Alistair that the remap was completely undetectable by the stealer systems, but I bet they'd know if they drove it. I'll be interested in your update Swifty.
Will I get my rod in?

The upgrade cannot be detected by LR dealer tools but of course if you drive the car 'against' a standard vehicle it will be obvious Smile

Black smoke is soot caused by overfuelling and/or high cylinder temperatures. Alternatively it can be soot dislodged from the exhaust system.

WOW -

No black smoke. Lots of power. No turbo Lag. Improved MPG.

Ive done a 190 mile trip follwoing the remap earlier today.

I cruised at 95 for over 120 miles on the M5 (allowing for occasional slower vehciles) and returned just over 24 MPG on the trip

I hit the M42 in peak - doing around 50mph for that camera controlled section and was up to 28MPG

I used Cruise Control on the North Devon Link Road, and it maintained its high speed, where it usually struggles on the hills.

It makes such a diffefrence - my average MPG on the same route on the way out (although slightly different traffic conditions) was 18mpg.

O - and I took an RRS HSE on the Roundabout at J24 M1 from the lights, on drag race accelleration. Sweeet.

No smoke with my TC.
TC also sorted to redo the remap via my dealer after the LR enhancement (lucky my dealer, Stratstone, offers TC inhouse)

I have said it before on here but imo the TC upgrade is essential for onroad driving,

I would not have purchased a Disco 3 if i had not read the reviews on here of the TC upgrade before buying.

Just to let anyone on this side of the water thinking of trying Turbochip. My recent installation by one of the boardmembers Chris Tyler has been well worthwhile. For those who tow a lot the difference in power/torque is phoenomenal and for those who love that extra bit of umph is a serious must.Ok it does cost a few quid but with the xtra mpg it shouldn't be long before it pays for itself and after thats done it will save you a few quid. Thumbs Up

I havent seen a puff of black smoke to boot ! Wink

Chris can be contacted via his profile , failing that pm or email me and Id be happy to pass you his details.

For those who've had the TC treatment, the pros seem to far outweigh any cons, but... although I think someone already asked the question in another thread, it's worth asking again, so no apology for repetition Wink :

Has there ever been a published independent test/review of a regular D3 versus a TC'd D3, with all the associated performance-related results? Let alone the regular motoring press, have none of the LR-oriented titles ever covered this?

I'd like to see a few more recommendations from '07MY owners on this subject if at all possible.

Can't decide whether to take the plunge.
